The Trinidad and Tobago Unified Teachers’ Association (TTUTA) has raised concerns that Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) teachers are being pressured to participate in the upcoming Secondary Entrance Assessment (SEA) examination, scheduled for March 26.
In a media release issued on Friday, TTUTA President Crystal Ashe said supervision of the SEA exam is strictly voluntary and teachers cannot be coerced into performing examination-related duties.
The Association specifically condemned what it described as “bullying tactics” being used against ECCE teachers, who are employed on contractual terms and therefore particularly vulnerable to undue pressure.
