Ahead of to­mor­row’s Bud­get pre­sen­ta­tion by Fi­nance Min­is­ter Dav­en­dranath Tan­coo, Prime Min­is­ter Kam­la Per­sad-Bisses­sar ad­mit­ted that her gov­ern­ment “can­not give every­body every­thing,” but promised to try.

Speak­ing at her Di­vali cel­e­bra­tions at her con­stituen­cy of­fice in Pe­nal last night, Per­sad-Bisses­sar ac­knowl­edged that not every­one would be pleased with the bud­get, say­ing, “Af­ter Mon­day I hope you will still be thank­ing all of us.”

She re­ferred to com­ments by the pun­dit dur­ing the pu­ja that, “In life you can­not please every­body. There will al­ways be some who will not be hap­py, some will be an­gry, and some will be sad and all the words in be­tween.”
