Ra­jaee Ali has been for­mal­ly charged with pos­ses­sion of pro­hib­it­ed items fol­low­ing the dis­cov­ery of con­tra­band at the Gold­en Grove Prison last month.

The Trinidad and To­ba­go Po­lice Ser­vice con­firmed to­day that Ali was charged with pos­ses­sion of pro­hib­it­ed ar­ti­cles, in breach of Sec­tion 8(1)(f) of the Prison Ser­vice Act Chap­ter 13:01, as amend­ed by Act 25 of 2019.

The charge stems from an in­ci­dent on Wednes­day, 25 June 2025, when Ali was al­leged­ly found with a Sam­sung cel­lu­lar phone, an un­brand­ed SIM card, and a phone charg­er—items clas­si­fied as pro­hib­it­ed with­out the ex­press per­mis­sion of the Com­mis­sion­er of Pris­ons.
