A Saly­bia man was doused with a liq­uid on Thurs­day be­fore be­ing chopped about the body by a man he knew.

Po­lice said the 43-year-old was walk­ing through a track in his gar­den at Pierre Street Ex­ten­sion, Saly­bia, around 8.30 am on April 10 – when he saw the sus­pect whom he knew, stand­ing be­hind a co­conut tree with a cut­lass in his hand.

He then saw the man hold­ing a plas­tic bot­tle with a liq­uid in it.
