International Relations Expert Dr Anthony Gonzales says he’s not in favour of protecting drug traffickers, but there should be due process.
Speaking with the Express yesterday on the shooting down of an alleged Venezuelan drug boat by the US military on Tuesday, Gonzales said: “I am yet to determine if it was an attack. Venezuelans have not yet said anything about their fishermen. I am little sceptical. I don’t know if the United State government is doing some grandstanding.
“It’s a big departure from what they were doing before. They used to intercept the boat. Now they are killing everybody on board. What about the peoples’ lives? I am not in favour of protecting drug traffickers, but I think there should be due process.”
