A man who allegedly tried to break into a poultry shop in Arima on Tuesday evening may have left more behind than broken equipment and cracked eggs. He also dropped his wallet, complete with ID.
Police said around 6:55 p.m., the owner of Terry’s Fresh Poultry on Tumpuna Road, was alerted by his landlady that a man, known in the area as “Dole Oil,” had forced his way inside.
The intruder reportedly damaged a point-of-sale printer, a cutting machine, and even a stash of eggs before being confronted by the landlord. In his scramble to escape, the suspect dropped his wallet containing his national ID card, essentially handing police his name, date of birth, and address.
