A 43-year-old Maraval man is seeking answers after allegedly being defrauded of $47,000 in a rental scam.

The victim reported that he began making payments to a woman for the rent of a property in Woodbrook around April 24, 2025. After entering into a formal agreement, he began making renovations to the property.

Several months later, he was told by the woman’s brother to cease all work, as she was not the rightful owner of the property, which is currently under judicial review, and no one could conduct any business there until ownership is determined.
