THE relatives of murdered Cashew Gardens resident, Jamal Arthur, believe he may have been alive for several hours after he was shot on Sunday evening. And they believe if the police had acted immediately he may still be alive today.
Arthur, a 37-year-old MTS groundsman, was found dead on the compound of the National Reforestation and Watershed Rehabilitation Programme at Cordial Avenue, Cashew Gardens, at 7 a.m. yesterday.
Police believe he was shot on Sunday while liming with two other men from the community, when around 9.50 p.m., a masked gunman emerged from nearby bushes and ordered all three not to move. The assailant then separated Arthur and another man from the group, ordered them to back away, and pointed a gun at 30-year-old fire service officer Kareem Reno. Reno was shot moments later.
