With 161 candidates and 17 political parties contesting the 2025 general election, political experts believe the battle to form the next government still remains between the incumbent People’s National Movement (PNM) and the Opposition United National Congress (UNC).
While it may be too early to make any definitive predictions, analysts agree the multiplicity of small parties shows democracy is alive and well.
