Police are investigating a robbery with violence in Monkey Town on Monday morning that left a truck driver injured.

Around 11 a.m., a 44-year-old driver employed with Seecharan Hardware was seated in his three-tonne truck at Third Branch Road, delivering items with his helper. Two men, both slim-built and wearing dark clothing with their faces covered, approached the vehicle.

One of the men reportedly produced a firearm and fired a shot, striking the driver in the abdomen. The suspects then robbed him of a gold chain, three gold rings, another chain, and a gold pendant bearing his name, valued at  $500.
