A house in San Juan was completely destroyed by fire on October 26, police reported. The single-storey dwelling, which contained two apartments, was engulfed in flames around 1:00 p.m.
Firefighters from the San Juan Fire Station were able to contain the blaze, but the structure was a total loss. The house was owned by a person currently abroad, and no injuries were reported.
Police said a 16-year-olds schoolgirl deliberately started the fire by pouring a flammable liquid on a pillow and igniting it. The fire quickly spread throughout the building.
