A Sunday family outing at Salybia Beach in Toco turned violent when a 34-year-old ship captain was allegedly struck in the head with a metal flag pole by an on-duty lifeguard during a heated dispute over beach safety.
The victim, Arrielle Bowen, of Millennium Park, Trincity, was left unconscious and bleeding from his head and ears following the incident, which happened at 3:45 p.m. on Monday.
The victim's wife Sian Bowen reported to officers at the Toco Police Station that the couple had been at the beach with their children and friends when an argument erupted between her husband and the lifeguard, a 41-year-old man of Valencia.
