One week after the lethal US airstrike that killed 11 alleged ‘narco-terrorists’ purportedly en-route from Venezuela to Trinidad’s northern coast, Venezuelan President Nicholas Maduro has bolstered military troops within and surrounding the country.
Speaking from a military bunker on Sunday, Venezuelan defense minister Vladimir Padrino stated that Maduro had ordered special reinforcements in certain areas, including the Sucre State- the region from which the 11 deceased are believed to have originated.
Padrino said Maduro ordered 15,000 troops in addition to an initial deployment of 10,000- totaling 25,000 ‘well-equipped’ troops.
