A 43-year-old Charlotteville man is in custody after allegedly using a gas tank to smash the glass door of the Charlotteville Police Station on Tuesday morning. Police said around 11:40 a.m., Jamell Thomas, also known as “Bone Eye,” approached the station and threw a red gas tank several times at the entrance, shattering glass panels on both sides of the door. He then ran across a nearby field. Officers PC Carrington and WPC Lewis later apprehended Thomas, who was taken to the Roxborough Police Station, where he remains detained.
The Criminal Records Office photographed the damage, and the cost of repairs is yet to be determined.
