A 53-year-old poultry farmer was beaten and robbed after being ambushed by three masked men at his home in Carlsenfield, Freeport, early Monday morning.
Police said around 5:45 a.m. the victim was tending to his animals in a poultry pen on the eastern side of his property when he was confronted by three men, one armed with a gun and the others with cutlasses. The men announced a hold-up and demanded access to a safe.
The victim was bound by his hands and feet but later released so he could go into his house. He handed over $400 in cash from his wallet. However, when he tried to raise an alarm and escape, one of the suspects struck him several times on the back with the flat side of a cutlass.
