A 52-year-old man was hospitalised on Sunday evening after sustaining gunshot and chop wounds in Laventille, Port of Spain.
Police identified the victim as Andrew Holder of East Dry River, Laventille Road. According to police reports, officers attached to the IATF Base in Aranguez, while on mobile patrol around 5:15 p.m., observed a male lying on the pavement in front of the Chafford Court Base with what appeared to be chop wounds.
The victim provided his personal details and reported that the attack occurred earlier that day near the George Street Health Centre. He was conveyed to the Port of Spain General Hospital for medical treatment.
