The funeral of little Jasher Francois, who tragically passed away at the San Fernando Teaching Hospital on August 7 was held today at the Baptist Ambassadors Church for Christ in St. John’s, San Fernando. The service drew family, friends, and community members mourning the young child’s untimely death.

Leader of the Opposition Pennelope Beckles attended the funeral to pay her respects. In a statement issued following the tragedy, Beckles emphasised the urgent need for accountability and a thorough investigation, while calling for support and counselling for Jasher’s grieving family.

“This tragic matter is of urgent national interest, and every effort must be made to ensure swift justice and maintain public confidence in our healthcare system,” Beckles said. “Our thoughts and prayers remain with Jasher’s family during this incredibly difficult time.”
