In­ves­ti­ga­tions are be­ing car­ried out in­to an at­tempt to ex­tort a Clax­ton Bay busi­ness­man, whose chil­dren and busi­ness were threat­ened if he re­fused to pay the mon­ey as de­mand­ed.

The 47-year-old own­er of an im­port busi­ness at South­ern Main Road in Clax­ton Bay re­port­ed­ly re­ceived a What­sApp mes­sage around 11.13 pm on Sun­day, in which the sender de­mand­ed $100,000.

The sender threat­ened the vic­tim that he would be un­able to open his busi­ness, and that his son and daugh­ter would both be harmed if he re­fused or failed to pay up.
