SOME municipal police officers in the Southern Division have complained about their 12-hour shift for Carnival Monday and Tuesday and added that there may a low turnout of officers over the two days.
The Express was contacted by officers who complained that the 12-hour shift was 'ridiculous'.
An administrative directive on Thursday by a senior police officer in the division, in relation to Carnival duties, stated that, 'No municipal police officers must perform duties for less than 12 hours on both Carnival Monday and Tuesday. Any officer failing to perform duties for the stipulated 12 hours each day would not be granted their four days Carnival leave.'
