A Venezuelan national was arrested by police for the possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking on Wednesday.

According to police, during an anti-crime operation in the Barataria district between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. Wednesday, officers conducted a search at the home of Jose Acosta, 28, at Chennette Lane, El Socorro.

During the search, officers found a black plastic bag in the bedroom apartment containing a quantity of marijuana and 31 packets of cocaine.
