Despite heightened public attention surrounding the visit of the USS Gravely to Trinidad, shoppers have remained calm and supermarkets are operating as normal, according to the Supermarket Association of Trinidad and Tobago (SATT).
In a WhatsApp response to questions from the Express, SATT president Biondi Bachew said there has been no indication of panic buying or abnormal shopping behaviour.
“It’s reassuring to see that shoppers have remained calm and are not engaged in increased buying patterns linked to panic,” he said.
