Min­is­ter of Plan­ning, Eco­nom­ic Af­fairs and De­vel­op­ment Kennedy Swarats­ingh has chal­lenged Cen­tral Bank Gov­er­nor’s as­ser­tion that there is no ev­i­dence of a for­eign ex­change car­tel, say­ing the lack of proof does not guar­an­tee one does not ex­ist.

Swarats­ingh, who al­so holds the min­is­te­r­i­al port­fo­lio of Min­is­ter in the Min­istry of Fi­nance, yes­ter­day of­fered a con­trast­ing view to Lar­ry Howai’s claim of last week.

He sug­gest­ed to Guardian Me­dia that Howai’s per­spec­tive was per­haps lim­it­ed to “what he’s see­ing at this time” and that a more com­pre­hen­sive view, in­clud­ing oth­er in­for­ma­tion and his­tor­i­cal con­text, is nec­es­sary to ful­ly as­sess the sit­u­a­tion.
