An inmate on a murder charge is in a coma after he was found on Wednesday bleeding from the neck.
According to a police report around 1.50 p.m. officers from Maximum Security Prison were alerted that an inmate, Adrian Koat, 32 from Cleghorn Village, Princes Town was bleeding from a wound to his neck in the bathroom of his cell. The victim, who is on a murder charge, shared the cell with two inmates.
He was subsequently taken to the infirmary and later transferred to the Eric Williams Medical Science Complex where he was treated and placed in a medically induced coma which the attending physician said he would remain in for approximately four days. The victim is currently warded at the ICU.
