A 27-year-old woman was stabbed on Monday evening after an altercation with another woman immediately following her exit from a maxi-taxi along the Diego Martin Highway near the walkover, police reported.

Authorities said the victim, who has addresses in Belmont and Diego Martin, had just exited the maxi around 7 p.m. when she was suddenly pushed by an unknown woman.

The victim attempted to defend herself, but she sustained a single stab wound to the left side of her chest. The attacker then fled the scene.
