Residents of Caparo and environs were stranded on Thursday after hours of persistent rainfall caused the Caparo River to swell and breach its banks.
The flooding, which has been described as the worst since 2017, left the main road impassable to motorists.
Local government councillor for Caparo/Mamoral John Lezama told the Express yesterday that while the residential damage from rising floodwaters was minimal, the street flooding had severely impacted commuters.
